History
B@SiC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) was formed in the summer of 1997 by three friends, Damian Broderick (drums), Rob Oag (vocals), and Gary Dickenson (guitar), all from Southampton (UK). Within a year the three of them had moved to the East Midlands and teamed up with Dave Thompson (guitar), and Andy Warren (bass).
The band soon began playing in pubs and clubs around Nottingham and also produced their debut EP -” Ego?” – recorded with the help of Derby University and the Pesky Alligators.
1999 saw Gary move on from the band, leaving Rob to make his guitaring debut at “Absoloot Pleasure” at Rock City in Nottingham. Later in the year Phil Kinsman joined on lead guitar, replacing the departing Dave.
2000-2001 became increasingly busy with more gigs, an couple of appearances at the Greenbelt festival and the release of a second EP – “Live a Lie”.
In the Autumn of 2002 Andy and Damian also moved on, but the band were soon performing again, when John Leary joined on drums and Dan Rowntree on bass. Two further EPs soon followed – “www.ep.com” and “Signs of Life”.
Also during 2002, Rob got married and moved back to Southampton, so the band reshaped with Dan Friend joining on drums and and Colin Leigh on bass. In 2003 Carolyn Chance joined on saxophone along with Andy Price (bass).
Sadly, in 2006, Phil left the band due to the lengthy Nottingham to Southampton commute and B@SiC entered a hiatus soon after.
Almost two decades later, Rob returned to the studio using the B@SiC moniker in 2024-25 to work on the debut/anthology album “Changing of the Seasons”.
